- What is Passitto?
Passitto is an online platform for business networking, with an emphasis on sending
and receiving business referrals.
- Why Passitto?
Passitto allows members to benefit from information that would otherwise go unused.
We all learn of other businesses, colleagues, clients, and friends who need goods
or services that we do not or cannot provide. While this information probably has
little value for you, it is extremely valuable to businesses that offer these goods
and services. Passitto provides a platform for you to provide this referral information
to other members and for other members to provide referral information to you. You
may increase the chance that you will receive referral information from other members
by providing more referral information to other members. If you choose, you can
also get paid by Passitto to provide referral information to other members.
- When would I use Passitto?
You can use Passitto when you learn of referral information that you are not going
to use yourself. In many cases you will not be using this referral information yourself
because you do not provide the good or service that the client needs, the good or
service needs to be provided by someone in a remote location, you have a conflict
of interest, or any other reason.
- Why would I use Passitto?
The core feature of Passitto is the ability to obtain and provide referrals. You can receive
Passitto credits or money for helping prospective clients find goods and services
that they need. You can then use the Passitto credits to obtain business referrals
for your business.
In addition to exchanging referrals, we have also integrated many other features into Passitto to allow you to promote your business services, connect with other professionals, as well as form private groups to communicate and network.
- I am a member of another
social networking website, why should I join Passitto?
Passitto is a “business referral networking” website, not merely a social networking
website. You have probably joined other social networking websites and then thought
"okay, now what." Later, you realized that there is nothing else to these websites.
Something is missing. We think that this “something” is member interaction that
results in the exchange of referrals. The reason why we network is to obtain referrals.
Social networking websites that do not provide referrals are not really networking
websites. Most are not even social websites, as there is very little member interaction.
They are just websites. Passitto seeks to remedy these deficiencies.
- I am a member of an offline
leads group, why should I join Passitto?
Presumably you joined the offline leads group to obtain referrals. Passitto can
provide another avenue for obtaining referral information. Passitto can supplement
or enhance your current leads group activities. It is our hope that Passitto will
improve offline leads groups. This is why we added the group functionality to the
website. It is free to create an online leads group using Passitto, which can be
a new wholly online leads group or an online resource used by a traditional offline
leads group.
- I buy leads from an online
website or offline service, why should I join Passitto?
The quality of leads from online leads websites or offline leads services can often
be quite poor. The lead information you are buying is usually collected from lead
aggregation websites and telemarketing methods. When you buy leads from these services,
you have little to no background information on the potential client who needs the
service until you have already purchased the lead.
On Passitto you have the ability to review much more information about the referral
before deciding if you would like to express your interest. The conversion rates
of referrals offerred on Passitto can be expected to be much higher than those of
bulk generated leads.
- I am an owner or employee
of a company that does not refer client information outside of our company, what
can Passitto do for me and my company?
Passitto can provide a method for tracking you and your company's sales leads. Instead
of making the client information available to the other Passitto community, you
can create a company group on the Passitto website and limit the referral information
to members of the group. This can be particularly helpful for large companies that
provide several different types of goods or services or that are dispersed geographically.
For example, imagine that a sales consultant in your Los Angeles division learns
of a client who could use your company's goods or services, but the client needs
the goods or services to be provided by someone in New York City. If your employees
or co-workers are Passitto members and members of your company group, an employee
in the Los Angeles division could use Passitto to pass the referral information
to the sales team in New York. The employee in Los Angeles would then be rewarded
for his or her efforts with Passitto credits, which can be used by the firm or member
as they see fit. The company can then use these records to track the movement of
referrals within the company.
- Can I use Passitto to locate
products and services that I need myself?
Yes. Passitto can be used to locate products and services that you need personally.
All you need to do is indicate that you are the potential client when you post the
referral information. The Passitto website will prompt you for this information
as you post the referral.
- How much does it cost to
join and use Passitto?
Nothing. It is free to become a member of Passitto. It is free to add contacts and
form and participate in groups. It is free to post referral information to the website.
By posting referral information, you can even receive Passitto points from other
members for free.
- Do I have to disclose my
identity to other members in order to use Passitto?
We encourage you to do so, but you do not have to disclose your identity to other
members. You can use Passitto to post referral information anonymously. All you
have to do is omit information from your profile and then change your website settings
so that only your contacts can view your profile information. Then you just do not
add any contacts. Because other members will not be able to see your contact information,
you should expect that the other Passitto members will reduce the amount of Passitto
credits that they are willing to bid on the information that you post to the website.
You may be able to make up for this by having a track record of good feedback.
- What is in it for Passitto?
Some members opt to purchase Passitto credits rather than exchanging referral information
with other members. We sell these credits. Also, Passitto retains ten percent of
the Passitto credits bid by a member when the member receives a referral through
the website. This allows us to limit the number of Passitto credits that are circulating
in the system, hopefully encouraging members to purchase some Passitto credits.
You will also notice that we have some limited advertising on the website. We should
also mention the personal satisfaction in facilitating business transactions.
- How do I pass referrals
to other Passitto members?
It is simple. Click the 'Post a Referral' tab in the main navigation. Then enter
the details of the referral by providing the information that is requested. You
have complete control over who the referral is being offered. You can offer the
referral to members of a specific group or to the entire Passitto community. As
explained below, Passitto will take care of the rest.
- How do I select a member
to receive the referral information?
If you want Passitto to automatically provide the referral to the member that bid
the highest amount of credits, you do not need to do anything. Passitto will provide
the information to the highest bidder shortly after the expiration of the time that
you selected for the referral. If you want to select a member yourself, you can
login to Passitto and select the winner from the list of members who expressed an
interest in the referral. You can also cancel the referral. You
must do this within one day of the date that the referral expired, otherwise Passitto
will assume that you want the referral to be provided to the highest bidder.
- How do I provide the client’s
contact information to the member that I selected to receive the referral?
If you select a member to receive the referral, Passitto will notify this member
of the contact details that you provided when entering the referral. If you entered
your contact information, the member will contact you. If you entered the client
contact information, the member will contact the client. Recall that you even selected
whether you want to make a personal introduction between the member and client or
if the member could mention your name to the client.
- What are Passitto credits
and what are they used for?
Credits have 2 purposes on Passitto. They allow members to quantify their interest
level in a referral you are offering. They also offer an incentive for members to
post referrals on the exchange.
When you are exchanging referrals within a tight-knit group of business contacts,
you probably don't need to require those members to bid credits upon your referrals.
The reason is you are probably acquaintances and familiar with these other members
and your incentive for providing these referrals is to receive reciprocal referrals
in exchange. You know these people. You provide them referrals, they give them back
to you, and everything is great.
Sometimes though you will have a referral to offer, but the normal group of people
you network with will be unable to service the potential client for whatever reason
(too busy, don’t handle that type of work, etc.). The great thing about Passitto
is that when you encounter this situation, you have the ability to offer the referral
to all members of the Passitto community. The Passitto community is comprised of
individuals representing all types of industries and professions.
The only issue with this scenario is since you don’t usually exchange referrals
with these other members on a regular basis, your normal incentive to provide the
referral to begin with (which is to receive referrals in exchange), is less likely
to occur. This is the great thing about Passitto credits. You are not depending
upon the member to whom you provided a referral for a reciprocal referral. Rather
you have obtained Passitto credits from this member for providing them a referral
referral, and therefore can use those credits to obtain referrals of use to you,
from any member of the community.
For example, if you are really busy and cannot take on any more clients, you can
offer referrals on Passitto to members who are actively seeking clients. As a result
you will build a surplus of credits. If the situation changes in the future and
you need to obtain new clients and work, you now have credits to seek out referrals
of use to you. Credits can help level the ebb and flow of business opportunities.
- How do I get Passitto credits?
There are two ways to obtain Passitto credits. You can obtain credits by exchanging
referral information with other members or you can purchase credits from Passitto.
- Who is awarded the referrals
that I post to the website?
You have complete control over who you select as the winner of the referral. In
general, members usually use the following 3 criteria in selecting to whom they
will provide the referral:
- Member Profile
- Amount of Credits Bid (Interest Level)
- Feedback from previous transactions
If you allow other members to bid credits to express their interest level in your
referral, then some members may pick the highest bidder as the winner. Other members
may choose a member who didn't necessarily bid the most credits, but rather has
an excellent profile and feedback history. . At Passitto we know our members have
different reasons and requirements regarding to whom they will refer business. It
is not our business to dictate to our members their selection criteria, we allow
you to use your own criteria in selecting a winner. If you feel nobody is qualified,
then you simply don't select a winner and cancel your referral.
- What if no one bids on a
referral that I submitted?
If your referral offering period expires without any members bidding or expressing
an interest in your referral, you can either resubmit the referral to the exchange
or do nothing. If you do nothing, it is as if the referral was never posted to the
website. If you re-list the referral, it will be the same as if the referral was
posted to the website for the first time.
- Can I respond to negative
feedback?
Yes, you have the ability to provide a single response to any member that leaves
feedback for you. You have this option regardless of whether the feedback is positive
or negative.
- I was not awarded all of
the Passitto credits that were bid on my referral, why is this?
Passitto retains ten percent of the Passitto credits that were bid by the recipient
of your referral. This is our fee for maintaining the Passitto forum.
- Can I ask questions about
particular referrals before I express an interest in them?
Yes, when you view the details of a referral, you also have access to the profile
of the member who posted the referral. You can simply click on 'contact member'
and internally message that member with any questions you may have.
- Can I change my mind after
I express an interest in a referral?
Yes, you can revoke your bid or remove your interest in a referral at anytime. We
understand that situations and schedules can change, and you may no longer be able
to provide the product or service related to the referral. Please note that after
your revoke your bid or interest in a referral, you can no longer bid on that referral
again.
- If I receive a referral,
how will I be notified of the referral?
By default, Passitto will send you an e-mail letting you know when you have been
selected as the winner of a referral. Simply login to Passitto, and you will find
a link on the 'My Account >> Home' area giving you full access to specific details
of the referral. You can always access information regarding any referral you have
won within the 'My Account >> Referrals Bid On' area. It is incumbent on each member
to periodically visit the Passitto website to view any referral activity that may
have taken place. As a member, you should make sure that your e-mail provider or
email software is not blocking Passitto e-mail messages from reaching your inbox.
- How do I view the referral
information that is available to me after I have been selected to receive a referral?
When you login to the Passitto website, the top menu bar has a tab entitled "My
Account." On the "My Account" webpage, there is an orange box in the sidebar labeled
"Referral I Have Won." Simply click on this link and you will have access to all
the referrals you have received, including information for contacting the person
who posted or who was in need of your products or services.
- If I am awarded a referral,
must I follow up on the referral?
Yes. If you are selected to receive a referral you must attempt to follow up on
the referral or contact the posting member to let him or her know that you are not
interested in the referral. This is only fair, as one of our members will be expecting
to hear from you.
- How can I leave feedback
for a referral that I received?
Once you are selected to receive a referral, you can go to the referral information
webpage to leave feedback about the referral. Here is how you can access this webpage:
from your 'Account Homes' webpage, simply click the link in the orange box labeled
'Referrals I Have Won'. This will take you to a webpage displaying all of the referrals
you have won. Simply select the referral that would like to provide feedback and
the website will prompt you to leave feedback for the referral.
On this page you also have the ability to provide feedback regarding the quality
of the referral. It is important you leave feedback regarding any referrals you
receive
- What if the details of the
referral were inaccurate?
If you win a referral with inaccurate or false information, you should contact the
member who provided the referral to see if they can offer any clarification or help.
If they refuse, your best course of action would be to leave appropriate feedback
in the member’s profile. Your feedback will help other members to make informed
decisions regarding whether they should express interest in referrals offered by
specific members. If a member has consistently received poor feedback, you should
proceed with caution and possibly use less Passitto credits to express an interest
in their referrals.
- What is the difference between
Actual and Available credits?
Actual Credits are the total amount of credits in your account. If you bid on a
referral using credits, those credits you committed to that active referral are
put 'on hold' until the poster of the referral makes a decision regarding the winner.
If you are not selected as the winner, those credits become available again for
you to bid on other referrals. If you are selected as the winner of the referral,
those credits are deducted from your account, and your receive the referral information.
If you wish, you can always cancel your bid on a referral at anytime, and the 'hold' on your credits will be released.
- Oh no, I forgot my password.
What do I do?
You can click on the "
Forgot Password" link on
the Passitto home page. This will prompt you to enter your e-mail address. Passitto
will then send you an e-mail with instructions on how to reset your password.
- I cannot access Passitto,
why is this?
In many cases this means that we are performing maintenance on the website. In other
cases, we may have suspended or restricted your ability to access the website. Given
the nature of the Passitto website, we reserve the right to suspend or deny access
to the website to members. If you are having difficulties accessing the password-protected
areas of the website, please contact our customer support.
- Can I pay for Passitto credits
without using a debit or credit card?
No. If you opt to pay for Passitto credits (rather than obtaining them from other
members in exchange for posting referrals), you must pay by debit or credit card.
- Can I get a refund on credits
that I purchase?
All purchases are final. Passitto, in its sole discretion, may make refunds if you
specifically notify us within one day of the purchase. You may be responsible for
any fees incurred by Passitto related to making a refund, such as the credit card
or merchant processing fees. If you wish to withdraw your Passitto credits, you
can do so at anytime but must comply with the withdraw policies.
- When will Passitto credits
be available to me?
If you opt to purchase Passitto credits, the credits will be made available to you
as soon as we verify the payment. Usually this occurs in just seconds, although delays are possible if there are issues with your credit card account.
Please understand that the timing is often beyond our control, as
we are dependent upon the credit card processing companies and other third parties
to process payments. If you opt to receive Passitto credits in exchange for providing
referrals to other Passitto members, the Passitto credits may be available to you
shortly after the time that you select the Passitto member to receive the referral
information. There may be a delay in some circumstances.
- How much does each Passitto
credit cost?
One Passitto Credit is currently being offered for one U.S. dollar.
- Can I purchase additional
Passitto credits?
Yes, you can purchase Passitto credits at any time.
- Can I withdraw my credits?
Absolutely, we realize some members may refer quite a bit of business, and generate
credit balances which exceed their needs. In this case, simply submit a 'withdraw
request.' If appropriate, Passitto will mail a check to your address as outlined
in our Terms and Conditions. Please note that the minimum withdraw amount is one
hundred credits.
- How do I withdraw my Passitto
credits?
You can withdraw Passitto credits by submitting a request to withdraw credits. You
can submit a request to withdraw credits by clicking on the ‘My Credits’ webpage,
selecting ‘Withdraw Request,’ and following the instructions on this webpage.
- How much does each Passitto
credit pay for my credits?
Passitto is currently paying one U.S. dollar for each Passitto credit that is withdrawn
by members.
- Why do I have to provide
my U.S. taxpayer identification number to Passitto to withdraw credits?
Passitto will use your U.S. taxpayer identification number to report payments made
to you to the federal government. To this end, we do require members to provide
a complete and signed Form W-9 before we will make the first payment to the member.
This may delay the receipt of your first payment from Passitto. We will not make
payments to any member who fails to provide Passitto with a U.S. taxpayer identification
number or if we have received information that the U.S. taxpayer identification
number provided by the member is false or otherwise invalid. Passitto may require
members to submit additional documentation before we make payment to any member.
- I submitted a request to withdraw
my Passitto credits, when can I expect payment?
If appropriate, Passitto will send a check to the member within thirty days after
the close of the calendar month in which a member requests to withdraw credits.
Passitto will not issue checks to any member whose credit balance is less than one
hundred credits. To offset the credit card [processing and other costs that we would
incur, Passitto may charge members fees if they opt to purchase additional credits
with the aim of increasing their Passitto credits in an amount over one hundred
credits in order to withdraw these amounts. Please understand that we do not do
this to try to profit from members; rather, we do this to offset the credit card
processing and other fees that we incur in these situations.
- This didn’t answer my question,
what should I do?
If you didn’t find the answer to your question here, you may want to see if you
can find the answer in our Terms and Conditions of Use. There is a link to these
terms at the bottom of every Passitto webpage.
